Ayesha’s performance in the recent Oyster Palma Regatta from her slab reefed, fully battened rig setup was no surprise to her owners. The Sloop setup allows for easy control from the cockpit, without losing the performance benefits of the powerful mainsail. In the owners words, ‘she deserves the rig she has’, as proven by her 1st 575 Regatta position.
Arguably for med sailing, she has the ideal set up. Easy tacking (no cutter) and maximum performance in the generally light airs during the summer months. The practicality of the mainsail will also strike a cord with anyone wishing to go further afield as proven by her CV.
Based at Oyster Palma, Ayesha has been in the professional care of Oyster Guardianage and presents beautifully. Viewing is highly recommended.

OWNERS ’ COMMENTS
The items in italic highlight the non-standard items fitted during the build programme or added by the owner thereafter.
“Ayesha II was built for us at Oyster Yachts Wroxham in 2012 as a fast cruising yacht with enough space for an increasing number of grandchildren! Her performance has always compared well to our previous Swan 48. With her fully battened mainsail and large overlapping Genoa (excellent electric Reckmann furler) Ayesha II combines speed with luxurious accommodation and good looks. Yes, she is a little more effort than an in mast furling yacht but this is more than repaid by her performance and of course gives a fun edge to regattas!
Ayesha II has crossed the Atlantic twice (ARC 2013 and 2019) and the Pacific once on the Oyster 2017 World Rally, regularly achieving distances in excess of 200 miles a day.
The yacht has a very comprehensive inventory of spares as should be the case with a long distance cruising yacht, including even a back up main navigational computer. We have also just had the main engine timing belts changed (1000 hours before this will be needed again) and a new turbo fitted. Throughout our ownership we have maintained the Oyster suggested maintenance schedules with the resultant excellent reliability.
In 2019 we had electric davits fitted and a new AB aluminium floored rib plus 20 hp electric start outboard.
We have sailed some 28000 miles with Ayesha II with countless amazing “once in a lifetime” experiences including to some extremely remote spots of the World. Throughout she has taken care of us and never been found wanting, it is time for another owner to have these same opportunities.”
Owners of Ayesha II since 2013.

1 . CONSTRUCTION
HULL NUMBER - Oyster 575/16.
HULL CONSTRUCTION - The hull is a composite construction, moulded using a combination of vinylester and polyester resin with the outer topside finish in a white special NPG gelcoat.
Laminate material comprises a combination of E-Glass, Kevlar and Carbon Fibre specially designed for the yacht by the Oyster Design Team’s own structural engineers. This ‘custom’ laminate offers significant weight savings, strength and stiffness advantages over a normal GRP construction.
Topside laminate incorporates a high-tech, balsa-cored, E-glass/Carbon sandwich above the waterline, for additional strength, stiffness and insulation.
In addition, below the waterline, the hull features a monolithic (single-skin) composite laminate, with an Aramid/Kevlar layer, reinforced with a matrix of stringers and floors. Combined with BS1088 standard marine-ply structural bulkheads, this produces a robust structure, with excellent strength to weight qualities and proven longevity.
Additional reinforcements are included in way of the keel recess, the keel longitudinals, mast bulkhead, P-bracket, forestay and hull stringers.
Limber holes and/or tubes are installed at appropriate points. Stringers, bulkhead landings and floors are formed over a non-structural, inert, polyurethane foam.
