This Ted Gozzard designed cruising sailboat by Bayfield Yacht Works is a pleasure to sail. Coorain is cutter rigged and handles both light and brisk winds very well. Her full keel and shallow draft make her stable and able to get into almost any water.
Coorain has been fresh water sailed in the Great Lakes. We have owned her since 2002. She has been well maintained and is a good solid boat. My wife and I a getting older and realize it is time to move on from this era of our lives. Coorain will provide you with a great sailing experience in a boat that was well designed and well built.
Coorain has a pedestal compass, depth gauge, knot meter and wind speed. Wind direction is currently not working. We also have a handheld Garmin.
Deck and Hull Equipment
The deccks are sound. There is Edison pedastal wheel steering. The rigging was replaced by the previous owner in 2002 and in good condition, inspected annually.
There are roller furlings for both genoa and staysail. They are hood brand and were reconditioned in 2015, both in good working order. She has 424 sq. ft. of sail area. She draws 3'-6", has 3000 lbs of ballast and displaces 9600 lbs.
There are 3 #8 Lewmar winches on the trunk top, and 2 Lewmar #16 and 2 Lewmar #8's in the cockpit.
The galley is equiped with an Hillerange LP gas range with 2 burners and oven, all in good working order. There is an ice box and sink with water from onboard bladder tank (2018) and shore water with pressure gauge.
Coorain has two batteries. She also has numerous miscellaneous equipment.
She is equiped with a Winslow life raft
Coorain is equiped with a Universal diesel, two cylinder. It was rebuilt by the previous owner in 2002 and runs strong. It has a V-driver unit which allows the engine to be moved to stern and out of the way in the cabin.
It has a hand gusher bilge pump and a newly installed Seachoice 1500 automatic bilge pump.
Built to sleep six, but if you are familiar with boats, four is more realistic. There is a V-berth, salon that converts to a double bed, a portside single and portside quarter berth. The V-berth can be closed off from the remainder of the cabin.
