Description

2016 American Tug 485-06 "Kama Hele"

The most customized American Tug 485 we have ever built. See the virtual tour to experience this remarkable vessel.

Kama Hele was commissioned by an experienced member of the American Tug fleet for extended cruising. Seeking to combine the traditional looks an American Tug with a more contemporary feel Kama Hele delivers the best combination of factory options and custom features.  An extended swim step and cockpit with two cockpit entrances using stainless steel gates creates an open look and feel.  The cockpit was designed with a seat at the transom and uses aluminum I-beams to eliminate the vertical supports of the aft overhang.  With the addition of a double door to the salon, Kama Hale achieves an excellent connection between interior and exterior spaces.  The galley was designed with clean white hard surface countertops, a custom Vitrifrigo refrigerator, a second Vitrifrigo drawer refrigerator and a SMEG cooktop with a Z Collection backsplash.  The pilothouse features a full electronics package with Garmin, ICOM and Maretron electronics and a walk through to the upper deck.  With two large sofas on the upper deck and a custom teak table wrapping the stack, Kama Hele provides the upper deck sociability of a flybridge boat. Both the guest and primary stateroom heads were thoughtfully designed with Z Collection backsplashes, solid surface counter tops and Holcam shower doors with obscure glass.  The guest cabin features a Pullman style queen, upper twin bunk and a full size stacked washer and dryer.  The primary stateroom has a custom headboard and window case work, lamps and features a Sleep Number bed and air conditioning for those hot summer nights.  You must visit this vessel to truly experience the thoughtful customizations that were made to Kama Hele.

Using American Tugs time proven Lynn Senour semi-displacement hull form, the 485 delivers excellent efficiency at speed and incredible stability provided by her hard chines and full keel. The long keel allows smooth tracking and protects the running gear. 485-06 was built using custom light plywood to remove weight and paired with a 600HP Cummins QSC for exceptional performance. Kama Hele can comfortably cruise at 8 knots at 2.17 NMPG, 10 knots at 1 NMPG, 14 knots at 0.64 NMPG or WOT at 18 knots at 0.60 NMPG. The American Tug 485 delivers the best combination of efficiency and speed.

Kama Hele has been kept in an enclosed boathouse since new and presents in Bristol condition. Consider this vessel as an alternative to new.  Estimated replacement cost is $1.85M and American Tugs has a three year waitlist for a new 485  delivery. Kama Hele is ready for your immediate use.
