Description

Viking 43 "Mariposa de la Islas" great vessel for fun in the harbor, island cruising, and living aboard

Numerous upgrades by a knowlegable owner

Santa Barbara Harbor Slip 45' Available

Engines

  • Detroit 6-71N Diesel engines
  • Twin-Disc transmissions

Original machinery was “baselined.” All the oils were analyzed for particulates and acids.

Cooling systems on the engines and generators were disassembled and
cleaned, and the raw water pumping systems on both were either rebuilt or replaced.

Fresh water flushing system was installed on both engines and
generator. Owner states "each and every time they are run in salt water, they have been
religiously flushed with fresh water and Salt-Away, and the mufflers have been
drained to prevent exhaust system corrosion and deterioration"

  • Fuel system upgrades – gauges were installed on each of the Racor fuel filters
so that you can know exactly when to replace them.

Access ports were created atop each of the fuel tanks, and the fuel was professionally polished while in the yard in 2016. Since then, a combination biocide and lubricity agent (BioBor JF) has been added to fuel to (a) kill bacteria that feeds on diesel fuel, and (b) restore the lubricating value of today’s low-sulfur diesel.
