Offshore Yachts are built with solid hand laid structural fiberglass below the waterline and laminated with end grain Baltek balsa coring above the waterline.
The hull designed by Bill Crealock, features a generous beam, walk around decks, and a proven seaworthy modified V design.
El Tiburon has been very well maintained and continuously upgraded.
This 1992 48’ sedan offers a very open and airy 2 stateroom and 2 head layout with salon and galley on same level. Large, protected and operable windows offer a 360 degree view from the salon while the rich teak and fine joinery adds unmistakeable elegance.
The u-shaped galley forward to port has generous corian counter space , an induction cooktop, microwave/conduction oven, a refrigerator/freezer with icemaker, another separate refrigerator and a trash compactor. An additional freezer is located in the cabinet on the aft deck.
The lower helm has full instrumentation and a fold down seat for more comfortable driving. There is easy access to both port and starboard side decks through sliding doors located in the galley and lower helm station.
Access to the flybridge is safe and convenient via interior teak stairs with additional flybridge access from the aft deck via stainless steel ladder.
The master stateroom is forward and with access to the queen bed from 3 sides, ample drawer and hanging locker space and an ensuite head with a separate stall shower that is accessed from the guest head and master head (a Jack and Jill shower). Two hatches and 3 portlights (with blackout curtains) provide ventilation and light.
Like the guest Head, the master/forward head has a Vacu-Flush toilet, good sized counter, sink and storage space. Both the master head and the shower have port lights.
The guest cabin is on port with a double lower berth and a pullman style berth above; storage drawers, under berth storage and a hanging locker provide excellent storage. A louvered pocket door provides privacy and 2 port lights (with blackout curtains) and a hatch for light and ventilation.
The 15' 06" beam of the Offshore 48 sedan offers a spacious cockpit that is easily accessed via the transom door from the swimstep or or either of the wide port and starboard side gates just aft of midships. The cockpit is equipped with a docking station (steering and engine controls); storage cabinets and a sink and counter. In one of the cabinets is a 3.0 cubic foot stainless steel freezer.
The flybridge has a unique fiberglass hardtop cover with wraparound lexan windows. Both port and starboard large windows slide open. The helmsman’s chair is on the centerline with excellent access to instrumentation and boat handling systems on the large console. To starboard of the chair is a cushioned seat for the first mate. To port behind the chair is an L-shaped cushioned seating area with a removable circular table. There is storage under the console and under the seating area.
The 11 foot dinghy with a Yamaha 20 HP electric start moter is stored on the uncovered area behind the flybridge with a 600 lb.electric davit for raising and lowering.
